Pic of the Week

High

Yesterday was probably my best going-out with my platoon mates ever. We'd all roar in laughter every other second that it was insane.

Anyway, I was supposed to stay at home, but seeing that this time they've all decided to come over to Woodlands, I couldn't not go along. I mean, my house is literally a stone's throw away from Causeway Point and the convenience is something I just had to take advantage of. I walked to CWP, unaware that they had already reached there. I took the bus which came earlier, and had the time to go home, change my shirt and wear contacts.

I saw Terence, Chia Keat and Yunshen together at BK and so went in to join them. Daniel went to withdraw money (at the same time left his hp in his bag and thus didn't reply when I SMSed him. BOO.) and Sern Hong went home to get some CDs for CK. We were starving like mad and decided to buy our food first. Turns out that SH had his dinner at home. So we sat there and had a great chat from like 6 to 730. It was insane. We had our usual inside jokes that made me unable to stop laughing.

After that we went to have a walk around CWP. Daniel, Terence and I went to play pool while CK, SH and YS went to play arcade. At this point in time I would like to tell a heartwrenching story.

There's a LAN place outside the pool place. When I went home, I didn't see my younger brother at home playing the computer. Now that is a strange occurence because he's only allowed to play on Fridays. So what could possibly make him give up his precious gaming time for something else? Since I happened to pop by this LAN place, I might as well check if he's in there playing.

It's a dark place. But instinct told me that he'd be wearing his loserish mud-brown Billabong cap (which I bet nobody will say is nicer than my Do Somethin' cap), because he wears that cap even when he plays at home. To my surprise, shock and stunned-ness, I saw him. Or at least I thought I did. I couldn't believe my eyes. I went through a row of chairs to have a closer look at the face.

And incredibly enough, it was him.

I've already prepared my lines. Arhm

YING ZHENG!

He looked up.

WHAT THE FUCK!?

And I stomped off. I just cannot explain the hatred and disappointment I felt when I saw him there. I'd bet my life that he lied to my mother and said that he was studying outside. It pains me to see that at his age, he cannot think for himself. He has already failed his 'O' Level Chinese, and he's going to take the rest of the Os in 2 freaking months. He did disgustingly lousy in the rest of his subjects as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in ITE.

No wait, I take that back.

I'd be surprised if he even makes it into ITE. My eyes were wet when I left the bloody place. Okay, so I didn't cry a river, but I didn't even thought that I would care that much. Like I've always said, if he ends up not being able to get a job eventually, he's welcome to be a maid and clean my mansion in the future. Whether I'm encouraging or downright nasty, it doesn't even seem to get into his head that maybe he should try harder to PASS all his subjects for the 'O' Levels.

Thinking back now, I should've shouted WTF in a much higher volume. I mean, I wish I could've said it again. If I had the chance, I'd say it again so loudly that the people in the cinemas would run out to see what was going on.

Don't ask me why I condemn gaming. See the light yet?

Well, that was a small blemish in the wonderful evening. Playing pool with Daniel and Terence was bloody bloody fun. The three of us had a lot of fun playing. Particularly since Daniel was doing the trashing when I played with him, it was kinda different to see someone else getting trashed too. Haha, okay, so it wasn't that bad really. Ooh, and I had a close match with Terence for the two games that we played. It was really cool... I mean, the three of us have pool-playing-dynamics! Great stuff.

Because our dear champion Terence got confined, he had to book in by 2130 and so he and I rushed off after our last game to catch 168. His watch was set a tad fast, so we ended up racing from the top floor down all the escalators to the bus interchange, where we continued running. It became kind of like Amazing Race! Haha... He almost went in the wrong direction; and to think he didn't need a guide! Haha, people rarely make their presence felt in Woodlands so rarely do I get to feel like I know a place better than others, so I just had to take the chance to play guide! Hmm, sometimes I feel that Terence is quite like Mak in some ways; they both bring out the havoc-ish side of me.

Anyway, after the bus came, I walked back to CWP only to see YC making his way towards the bus interchange! I told him that Terence had just left and I think he tried to catch the bus that he was on.

I went back and met the guys at the arcade. We shopped around a bit more, looking at the Winnie the Pooh cup at More Than Words. Daniel found it cute. So the joke went that we should just buy them all and throw them away so that he wouldn't be able to get any. He was hinting us to get it for him for his birthday! *gasp* Also, we went to Guardian to try out these pin-hole spectacles which was supposed to improve one's eyesight. I didn't get to try because I couldn't take out my contacts, but CK and YS said there was some difference and they could see a bit better with those spectacles. Of course, this deal and promotion was brought to our attention by none other than SH. It was certainly a laugh of course, as we told him that he could probably use some material, poke some holes into it and paste it on his specs and it'd probably have the same effect! After that we all went to drink Bubble Tea.

Well, I was feeling absolutely high after going out with those guys. Happy. Amused. Relaxed. Can't believe that it was so cool to go out despite being stuck with each other for 5 days a week since March!

Ivori Lynn Leos: That I like you'r song shake it off and the ader song we belong together
Oh yeah. Most of the visits to my blog come from yahoo searches of those two songs. And it shows me just how much of a legendary singer Mariah really is. Look out for her next single Get Your Number!

mbies: i've got bad news too. I LOST MY FREAKING LAPTOP!!! im so traumatised now i duno wad to do mans. n abt the class outing... my adobe photoshop! *faints*
mbies: hais. i can't wait for jay to be a daddy too. i think after reading your entried of britney i've gotten a kind of respect for her. maybe its her being a mother.

We'll have to have a very important discussion for the class outing. I just found out by luck that I don't have to go back to camp on 1st Oct. On with the show! Oh, and sorry about your laptop. I'm sure you'll get another one soon enough! All the 10A photos!

fi5h: Haha..Conz going..haha.. i miss s10a, britney..hmmm..haha... i must admit she look better now than way back when she first entered the scene
Haha... yeah, that's precisely why I hope that 10A will have a very memorable outing this time. Gathering-of-the-year material. Oh, and Britney.. =)

randRoPs (xUe ping): uR blOg is very entertaining n interesting! hehe..

bert: btw, thought u had my new add? my-sky-is-erotic.blogspot
bert: should army guys all be tanned by default?

Army guys have an uneven army singlet tan if you're talking about mine. Well, of course there're the people on office duties etc. so army guys aren't tan by default. Right, I've linked you up already. Cheers!

This week was a crazy week, with a nights off, half day of leave and a very boring time in camp. Well, other than the fact that it was quite havoc yesterday when Terence came into my bunk and I nicked his long 4 and he took Daniel's and we went to clean the laundry area. Laugh-my-ass-out! We do crazy things to entertain ourselves... *censored*

I'll be going for a swim with Wee Lee in a short while. Probably be buying stuff for next week's BBQ today and then staying over at JY's house! Ooh! Tomorrow will be equally busy because I'll be meeting up with Van and Mr Cheng and Yu Ting at East Coast. It'll be ending early because last Sunday I reached home at 12midnight and on Monday I was a walking zombie. Boo. Ah, I'm going all out to enjoy myself because we're going to have tough training coming up in preparation for the Brunei trip. And there's a parade rehearsal at Nee Soon camp on my birthday. So I can't take birthday off. Double BOO. Well, I'll have to make do with what I've got then!

Mid Autumn Festival

Ooh, I just received a set of photographs when I got back home today. Can't remember everything about what happened so this would be pretty much a photolog. And I'm feeling absurdly lazy and on leave ie doing nothing.

Right, call me a show-off. Anyway, I'm thinking of attaching my Zen to bigger speakers (which require elecricity) during the class outing. This one didn't quite cut it. The sound was hardly overwhelming. It's okay for use in my room when I sleep, but definitely not an outdoor tool. Replacement! Oops. On to proper stuff.

Ah, a lot of stuff were done for me to survey for my class outing. There's quite a bit of stuff to cook and got quite a few brainwaves. Also felt that the shelter didn't make a good place to gather. However, the nice table area is like half a minute's walk from the BBQ area.

Anyway, I had fun taking tonnes of photographs and did minimal cooking. I'm not that good at BBQ-ing, but it didn't stop me from trying my hand at it!

We light up tonnes of lanterns every year and hang them up. This year was pretty much no exception. Well, it was done by my distant cousin and her boyfriend this time because the rest of us were pretty much busy with other stuff. It was quite a beautiful, romantic set up. Well, the senior citizens decided to sit in and enjoy the atmosphere too. Wow.

I'd like to say that... I DIDN'T TAKE THE PHOTOS MYSELF (nor did I asked to take plenty of photos of myself although I quite like the idea...). They were erm, my young cousins' attempts at trying to use the camera. And I must say, hmmm, army has changed the way I look! Haha! It's quite fun being with my younger cousins and they are kind of cute. The rest of the guys my age decided to go play soccer while I stayed back to BBQ stuff. I don't play soccer anyway.

And finally a photo taken by my Er Jiu who sets up shops developing photos! Haha... this is one of him experimenting some function of his really cool digicam! I look happy!

A haphazard entry... bah!

3 Brand New Tracks

Adrenaline's pumping through my veins; I'm breathless; Sweat's drippin' all over my face!

3 new songs have been unleashed by Britney! They sound absolutely fabulous and they really make my day. I was so impressively irritated by the puny things that happen in camp and listening to this - AH! I was shocked back to a world where music, well, ROCKS!

1. Mona Lisa, which she sneakily premiered on a US radio station some time ago. It's a crazy midtempo track which she wanted to use as the first single to promote an upcoming album The Original Doll. She was still doing The Onyx Hotel tour when she recorded it with her band. It sounds a tad less nasty than the original, but still, a lovely track. Nicknaming herself Mona Lisa and slamming all those who were cloned from her original image, this is one track that means a lot to her. There's a lot of hidden meanings about her image, her life, and tonnes of other stuff. Deep.

2. Over To You Now is what I call a club classic. I think I'll bang my head to it till my head drops off. Thundering basslines and fantastic mid-easternish string influences, whispery vocals, suggestive lyrics make me go crazy in my mind... It's been trashed by some fans as a cheap Danii Minogue or Lisa Scott Lee influenced shit. You won't have any idea who they are if you aren't into Brit Pop, but that's besides the point. The point is.... I love this song! It's hot! Disco! Dancefloor madness... Eurotrashydancepop at its freaking best. Beat that!

3. Chaotic, is of course the song off her TV series Chaotic, but this time, it comes with a proper bridge and ending. It's addictive, crazy, insane... I can't get the right words to describe it. It gets me on an ecstatic high with its unpredictability. Diving suddenly to an almost spoken, soft bridge in the midst of all the rush of the song, and the cutesy ending of lalalala just blows my mind. And it pisses over all the pop songs released this year. Imagine, this is a track recorded 2-3 years ago, for In The Zone. Can ANYONE understand the greatness of it all?

I can't upload them and share, but I can lead you in the right direction. I think a couple of websites have had them up but the record label has asked to take them down. Don't worry record label guys, I will be getting the DVD when it is released, so I'll treat this as a preview!here

Forget if she'll ever release videos of these tracks. Forget that she's a big celebrity. Forget that she's just given birth. Hell, forget that she poses skimpily on magazines. It's back to the roots; what she was famous for at the very beginning.

Music.

These tracks are fucking amazing. Pure and simple.

Hawt Mama!

Britney's given birth! Yay!!!

After 9 months of looking at her belly swell and swell and also taking time out to do photoshoots in her lovely pregnant self (as can be seen from above, an Elle magazine outtake), and with the press hounding her to find out what she's been eating and whether she quits smoking, she's finally given birth on Wednesday. A huge congratulations to Britters!

How many people can get pregnant and have their first born's photo worth a million bucks? She hasn't accepted any deals yet, but it'll be disgusting for her to go shopping and have the first photo of her boy taken by some passing papparazi! So I'd be expecting some very professional shots of her with her little boy! Hmm, I kind of knew it all the while that it was a boy. I don't know why. I just wanted her to have a boy. GOSH!

We've seen this girl grow up. She was in the spotlight since she was 16. I'm growing up too and I'm beginning to see the stuff that she undergoes and why she reacted in the ways she did. She's been a little girl, going through the transition of being a woman, trying to find who she really is. It's fab. And now she's taken it one step further with motherhood! How many people can imagine their teen idol actually screaming in the hospital rooms and giving birth? But she's done it!

I can't believe how she's such a powerful celebrity. When it was announced that she was pregnant, every trip to the hospital prior to her giving birth was well documented by the press. The gender of her child was highly speculated. Fools decided to comment that she shouldn't breast feed her child because she's had breast implants. The fact that she's been eating a lot (Britters reckons she's eating for two and so she's been having her fun eating) came under scruntiny. Her various maternity wear were well publicised as there were photos of her taken everytime she stepped out of her house. (How pesky those papparazzi are!) Story after story of Britney's pregnancy leaked to feed the hungry curiousity that the world had about her. I mean, when Britney said she just might name her son after London, the press in London went berserk and there was not one paper that didn't report that Britney's son might be named after that place!

Look who's the almighty celeb now.

Anyway, with her new fragrance coming out (her previous being Curious brought in $100million in revenue for Eliz Arden) and all and possibly an album in the works now that she's finally given birth to him, her stardom shows no signs of waning and I just can't wait for something NEW. Ooh, did I mention that the Chaotic DVD will be released anytime soon?

Once again, Congratz to Ms Spears!

BTW, being a hot mama means she gets to grow up with her kid, because she gave birth young and so can go through life more with his presence around. You know what I mean. Like when he gets married, she'll be younger than she would be if she gave birth at 40. Geddit? And she's always wanted to be a Hawt Mama! =P

The weather is good.

The sun's high up in the sky.

It's warm.

There's a lot of wind.

Enough to fly kites.

I bought Banana Boat Tanning Oil for $12.50 yesterday.

Disappointed with myself for not able to getting my ass out of the house because of the BBQ.

Gr.

And my lack of resolve.

Grrr...

Heating things up for the upcoming class outing. Look at the coolness of 03S10A ya'll!!! Soon to be reunited again...

Rebecca: Hi guys! Is the movie still on? I really want to watch this show. But cannot seem to find it online. Do let me know if the dvd is out okay? Many thanks =) Cheers Rebecca
I think you're talking about the Korean movie Innocent Steps, I'm shocked to announce that it's not showing anymore. I don't think it lasted more than a month with a huge number of new movies that are being released. As for the DVD, I don't see it anywhere yet, but I'm sure it'll be out very very soon. Watch this space!

bert: http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2WHAZOU5T0ORG139BRI9JMZ2FR
Outrageous! Hey bert, I don't have your new blogspot address. Thanks for this song by Daphne Khoo - Paper, which IMO has got to be the best song in the whole of the Shooting Stars. And surprise surprise, she wrote the song herself too. It reminds me of an old song, but she did a very good job in making a completely new song, despite the vibes feeling the same. I love it! And she acted pretty well too... Ooh, she's got a fan in me!

mbies: AND KHERRAY TOO. XDDD
mbies: geraldine is coming. quick.. bai me!
mbies: and debbie too!
mbies: von is coming to cass bbq too! LOL. lousy la yingheng... =x

Yeah, girls need girls to persuade I guess... What tactics you used? I can't be arsed to call... told you lar, you are important and you have a certain mei li... Must continue helping me with organising it. I have bad news, I'm involved in a display on Sun, 2nd Oct. I pray I don't have to book in on Sat night, but I think I can beg my superiors to let me book in on Sunday morning or something!

mingy: you changed the border! and i see my face right in the corner. love it. but we should take a better one next time. i look pretty crappy in it. AND hurry plan something man...
Haha, your face doesn't really look like that. It just happened to land on the line where some shearing occurred and then the whole of that border thing is supposed to tilt slightly right. Can pretend you are looking at a distorted mirror, that's why it looks crappy. Thanks for noticing that thing! Kind of put in the effort to give the place a new look! Plan something! Haha, Zhenhui's thinking of next Saturday. Well at least that's the date I gave him. I think something will happen! Haha...

mbies: AM I ZAI OR WAD? XD connie is going to class outing. HIGHLIGHT HER NAME!!!1!
You're zai lar. *shakes head*

Th3odor3: damn why u put my drunk face on ur blog
Th3odor3: woo that fast! faster than me hehe i took 1 week to read sia.

Had to take good care of your book too. Also, Daniel and Terence make a lot of noise saying that I'm reading slowly. Thanks for reading my blog. I'll try to remove the photo asap lar! Don't worry, normally you look more shuai than that... who ask you look so seh still want to take photo with me!

mingy: That guy is so going to cry... u're a blur toad... either that or ur fren's havin a hellova gd time givin ya insomnia
Haha... I've gotten over it. Now I don't care if I do find out. It'd be a bonus though!

Sid: hey 2 of my pjc frens are in the same platoon as u lehx. hahaz.now den I know .. lolz.
Yeah, they were people I keep trying to tell you about! Haha!

Now there's quite a bit going on this week. I'll be going out with Van tomorrow and probably going tanning today and a little swim. Surprisingly Wee Lee also called me out yesterday to swim today. I've in turn asked him to go swim next week, because it's not nice rejecting people! Anyway, there wasn't much to do this week in camp, but we've all decided that this is just the calm before the storm. It'll probably be crazily chaotic next week, but I'm sure I'll be able to take it all in my stride. And I heard things that scare me, like we'll be doing more jungle training. *shudders* As I said, I'll be taking it in my stride.

Had a 5km run at Labrador Park and that place is small (at least from what I see), but the place is absolutely gorgeous! Although it is a bit inaccesible, it is certainly one of the nature reserves worth taking a peak at.

I'm having a family BBQ later today to celebrate the Mooncake Festival. All my aunties and my mother are crazy over making this BBQ a success and also, providing more food than I can possibly imagine. My mother's saying that her arms are aching from mixing some stuff for some yam paste or something like that, and her legs are aching from all the shopping she did these few days to buy food for today. And her arms are doubly aching from carrying them. My responsibilities for today include erm, carrying a few stuffs downstairs, BBQ-ing and of course, playing with the kids. Also, I'm on a secret mission to take a look at the facilities there and see how I can turn the place into a happening one for the class party. Woohoo! Busy busy!

I wish I'd never have to book in though. Haha, must be me thinking rubbish because I was hardly in camp the past week. Bah! Time is flying past quickly, and I only have one more year to serve. ORD, here I come!

Okay, wishful thinking on my part but I can dream, can't I? To all the Uni students: Enjoy your Uni life! You have no idea how your male conterparts in NS are longing to join you guys!

Black Eyed Peas - My Humps

When I say Get Nasty, this is exactly what I mean. Throw in a bit of saucy, dirty lyrics combined with Fergie's naughty, taunting voice and of course the fantastic production and the rest of the guys heat up this track that's sure to be an airplay winner. You'd probably be hearing it in the clubs too!

My Humps, the single which I much prefer over Don't Lie(which I still do like), is a world away from its predecessor, Don't Phunk With My Heart. Don't Phunk was one of those songs which were something characteristic of BEP that they could've wrote it without thinking and it would've became big anyway. My Humps on the other hand, is an alternative term to comment on... well, here's the lyrics.

My humps, My humps, My humps
My lovely lady lumps
In the back and in the front

Now, it wouldn't take a genius to find out what she's singing about. I must admit just 20 seconds of the song that was played when they were advertising the album Monkey Business was enough to get my attention. Essentially another sex song, as Bryan would put it, it's all about clubbing, money, and plenty of boobs and ass. Playful drumbeats and panting (look at Britney 's contribution from IAS4U to the music world these days) makes the song an impressive grind-fest that isn't too heavy yet still nasty!

Chart-wise, BEP are doing fantastically on BB100, with Don't Lie at #14, My Humps humping up 9 to #16 and Don't Phunk With My Heart at #32. On the world chart provided by http://www.unitedworldchart.de/, Don't Lie is at #2 and Don't Punk at #14.

You can check out the lyrics to the wonderfully flirtatious My Humps here and Don't Lie.

The BEP are rockin' ya'll!

Leave

I'm on leave tomorrow. But what the hell am I going to do?

I suppose I'll just be mopping around and thinking crappy thoughts, but there's only like, 14 days of leave in a year, and I think I've only got 5 or 6 days left. It'll be such a waste if I don't do anything with it. So I think I just might be going for a swim tomorrow morning. Provided that the weather looks good and I am able to get my butt out of the house.

Britney has yet to give birth.

Anyway, I bet my bunkmates are having fun outside right now, enjoying their outing having supper somewhere. I can't remember where it is exactly, but I know it's rather far from home. I'm not trying to be antisocial, just that it's only 11 and I feel the desperate need to crawl into bed already.

It is kind of silly when I just had off yesterday and spent pretty much the entire freaking day sitting in front of the computer. Today I went back to camp to do some shit work and basically completed Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It's a pretty good book if I must say so myself. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I took my time to read it despite the noisiness of Daniel and Terence saying that I'm a slow reader. Bah.

This must be my crappiest entry yet, because I can't even seem to know the direction in which all this is headed. It's just like... puking out whatever comes to mind onto the keyboard. So random of me. Can't believe I've to book in tomorrow for the RSM parade on Thursday, and by then I can look forward to booking out on Friday and actually enjoy my freaking weekend! I see now that not being in camp just releases me from the extra pressure of doing shit work, but being out of camp doesn't actually give me anything to do or anybody to go out with.

I think I'll be blogging about one music entry, a movie one and a personal one tomorrow. I've been doing quite a lot of writing and thinking and photograph editting. Might just change a few of the photographs that appear on the blog. Damn, am I sleepy already.

My Curiousity's Killing Me (And I Must Confess I Still Believe)

I had a chat with Joel just now. Joel Bay from Whiskey Platoon 4. An old BMT mate of mine. It was only towards the end of BMT that I actually became close with him, and I got a chance to know him better. Recently we've been bumping to each other a lot. As fate would have it, after going through SISPEC, he's now an engineer (not unlike me) and we're both in Seletar camp. Bumped into him when I was doing IPPT one day and also yesterday after the 21 km run.

Had a little chat with him on MSN just now and he told me some pretty disturbing stuff. Okay, it was just something I find curious. I don't know how to explain it! Here it goes...

Book out day!!! says:
u know shaun
Book out day!!! says:
yr old friend
Book out day!!! says:
ya la
Book out day!!! says:
ocs kid right

{JS4U} - Get Nasty - wh-s.blogspot.com says:
wait... u toking about WHO>?
Book out day!!! says:
erm'
Book out day!!! says:
the super smart shaun
Book out day!!! says:
he knows u
Book out day!!! says:
he is in ocs
Book out day!!! says:
he knew u outside of army la

I was kind of stunned after that. I cannot, for the hell of me recall that I actually know someone called Shaun. As I pursued the matter, I got to know more about this guy who supposedly knows me. Arhm.

  1. He's going to Harvard. (If he was, I think this is a unique information which would have stuck to my brains!)
  2. His name is Shaun Loh. (Sounds even more familiar. Irritatingly!)
  3. He knows that I was from Whiskey in BMT and asked Joel if he knew me.
  4. He knows my full name. (To which Joel exclaimed: He knows yr full name too n u dun know him!!!!!!!!!)
  5. He is from HCJC. (My brain works overtime. I would most probably have known him from RVHS. But still I don't remember knowing someone named Shaun...)
  6. He knows I'm a Khor(JOel: how many khors do u know eh?)
  7. He plays squash. (Ooh... Shuping was from RVHS, and squash and went to HCJC. Maybe she knows him!)
  8. He said he and I hit on quite well last time. (Which makes me feel worse than ever that I have no freaking idea who he is.)
  9. He did social work before and probably knew me through that. (That means he might not have been an RVian!)
  10. He knows specifically I'm from Whiskey Platoon 4 (Joel says I must've told him, but that's pretty impossible that I don't even have a vague memory telling it to this guy I don't know!)

I'm so confused now that my head is spinning. Whatever it is, I need to find out who's this Shaun guy. Of course, maybe it's some misunderstanding and that Joel remembered wrongly and I don't know this Shaun fellow, but I trust my erm, 24 km buddy. Haha... he said he won't bluff me! Argh! The suspense is killing me; the mystery is killing me. If there's nights off or something I'll stay in camp or find some way to visit Joel so he can show me a photograph of him or something. He asked me to sleep/wank on it.

Hmmm, good advice man.

Celebratin' Nana's BDay

DAMN. This is the second time I'm typing this, because the thing got deleted because I somehow got logged out accidently. Anyway, moving on.

Yesterday Si Hua and I celebrated Nana's birthday! I tried to trick her by telling her that Si Hua had some family matters to attend to and that I forgot to bring the backpack that I promised her. She's going to Thailand tomorrow if I'm not wrong. Yep. But being the old friend that she was she saw through my trick immediately and we took the escalator to see Si Hua with the backpack at Orchard MRT Station.

We went to have chicken rice at Far East, which was what Sequeena wanted. As usual, we had a good chat and the food was good too.

And this photo was taken courtesy of the birthday girl herself. It might not look that appetising because the colour is kind of funny. Anyway, after that we went to take a walk around Far East and took a lot of photos. The place was still rather empty at noon and there wasn't much to see. We passed by an instant-photo-developing place and decided to play with the machine. Si Hua and I had our fair share of experience playing with it and so Nana had her virgin chance at trying her hand out in photo editting.

We asked someone to take a photo of the three of us and went to that particular machine to edit it. The photo turned out rather cutesy, with a fantastic border and a bit of editting and wordings added in. We printed out one for each of us, and they were saying it costed only $1.50, which was more worth it than the neoprint that we took last week which costed 10 bucks for such a small piece of print!

We then went over to the opposite building, which had a duty free shop.

The place was really beautifully decorated and sells unique stuff. We were wondering whether we were allowed to buy the stuff since after all the duty free goods are supposed to be for tourists! Si Hua told me that I looked like I was from the Amazing Race because I was carrying the humungous backpack around. There were expensive chocolates and even shirts from the Singapore Zoological Gardens.

We then went to the building beside. I have no idea what it's called but it houses Chinablack. We went to take a look at all the shops there like Fox, and I was really tempted to buy some of the stuff since I just got my pay yesterday! However, by some miracle and incredible sense of self control, I managed to not buy anything. Anyway, we had fun taking capturing our youth by taking plenty of photographs. There was one pretty hilarious one with Si Hua and Nana showing their most qian bian faces in front of That CD Shop (I think that's what it's called). Also we came across a bench.

And we took my favourite photo of yesterday there. Whenever there's a bench, it just inspires us to put the camera on timer and just try to take photos of the three of us, without having to ask someone to do it for us. Yep! Cool stuff.

Si Hua and I decided that we should hold the cake ceremony for Nana. We went to Wheelock Place (which didn't allow phototaking) and wanted to celebrate at the Coffee Bean there, but the place was deemed unsuitable. We then went to the Coffee Bean at Taka, but it was totally packed and so was the coffee place at Kinokuniya. We decided to take our celebration to the coffee place at the library above, but it didn't sell a single slice of cake. Gosh. It gave us a tremendous headache and in the end, luckily enough, we found a place in the Coffee Club at Wisma! We bought a slice of something and Mocha Freeze while Nana took a little nap...

And that Tiramisu really tasted just fab. Of course, we sang her a birthday song, to which she was embarrassed and touched by. After finishing the cake, we gave her our present of a notebook. I was shopping around before meeting the both of them and was inspired by the little notebook because during my trips to Thailand and Myanmar, they came in helpful in noting down small interesting things. Anyway, there were forewords by me and Si Hua, writing in our birthday wishes for her. It was done hurriedly on the trainride to Orchard and my handwriting was nasty! Oh well, it's the thought that counts. She was engrossed reading it...

... and was very touched to receive it as a present. Altogether now: Awwww! Haha, we did enjoy writing stuff for her as well. It's a simple yet memorable and useful present... Ain't we genuises? I can't believe it myself either.

Awnyway, I had to rush back to camp as I had to book in to sleep early for AHM. In the end we had to leave early and everything. It was fun and meaningful although it was a rather short one.

Cheers to the next birthday celebration!
